The Phoenix Cup is the worlds first fully inclusive team international and is based firmly on the Ryder/Solheim Cup, where disabled golf groups from around the world are invited to compete and continue to develop and promote the sport for players of any age, with any type of disability. To date, The Phoenix Cup is still the only pan-Disability match play team golf event in the world. In addition, the Phoenix Cup has been played on 27 occasions so far by 773 golfers from 18 nations.

Steve wasn't always an 'adaptive' golfer. He was forced to become one after losing his right leg in a motorcycle accident several years ago. While Cory was 'born' without most of his left arm. These physical disabilities have not slowed down either men and their love for golf. In fact, Cory is President of the Iowa Amputee Golf Association.  While, Steve is a Board member and Treasurer of the non-profit organization. In addition, Steve has won several amputee golf tournaments, and was a national runner-up in the Senior Division National tournament in 2021.
