Archival Live Album / Video of the Year: Ultimate Classic Rock Awards

Some notable anniversaries rolled around, and classic rock responded in the coolest of days, by offering fans deep-dive opportunities with expanded archival live album and video sets in 2016. Pair that with some nifty showcases of individual concerts, and you have an impressive list of candidates for Archival Live Album / Video of the Year in this year's Ultimate Classic Rock Awards.

Bob Dylan's genre-defying electric tour with the Band turned 50 at the same time  the Band's signature Thanksgiving 1976 show, The Last Waltz, celebrated its 40th anniversary. Rush's 2112 also marked its fourth decade, while Eric Clapton returned to a 10-year-old show with longtime inspiration J.J. Cale.

Elsewhere, we got expanded peeks inside the live recordings made by Led Zeppelin and Queen for the BBC, a complete listen to Jimi Hendrix's first-ever show with Band of Gypsys and a chance to look back as Jon Lord made his final appearance with Deep Purple. The list also includes the belated release of a live project from Bad Company's classic-era lineup, and the long-hoped-for appearance of the Beatles' Hollywood Bowl shows on CD.
