Community events are always fun, especially free events that offer a unique experience; enter Cornerstone Church in Cascade, Iowa.
Last night (10/9) they dropped not 1, not 2, but 3 giant pumpkins from 45 feet up.
The Fall Festival at Cornerstone Church took place from 3 to 6pm at the Church's permanent location in Cascade next to the BP, across the road from Brothers Market, off of Highway 151.
On the evening there was tons of fun to be had and it was all free; donated by the members of the church and other area businesses.
Families who attended were provided with a free meal which included, hot dogs, chips, pumpkin bars, apple cider donuts, lemonade, coffee, and loads more.
Attendees could take their pictures at the arch way entrance and then enjoy pumpkin painting, face painting, or one of the evenings continuous hayrack rides.
My youngest (the twins) did all the games and ate WAY TOO MUCH candy; while my oldest daughter helped out by running one of the stations (nerf bow range), as did I (the football throw).
It feels good to give back to the local community, and seeing the kids interact and play in a safe and welcoming environment always brings a smile to my face. Add in a little friendly competition at the Football Toss game, and it was a great night. BTW some of those kids "gotta' cannon," no joke.
A huge thank-you to Cornerstone Church, and Event Coordinator Lisa Snyder, for providing another quality, free family event for Cascade and the surrounding area.
Cornerstone usually holds their Kids Life Bible Club Sunday nights from 5:30 to 7pm at the church, which is free and open for all area children to attend.
