The Dubuque City Council reversed course last week on sending a ballot question to the voters to decide on rebuilding the Five Flags Center.

It may have been a prudent move considering the instability of the global economy. Nonetheless, the longtime venue continues to host fun concerts and events for the foreseeable future.

Country music star Brett Young comes to Dubuque this Thursday with special guest Chris Lane.

Young's star rose fast, with fans everywhere appreciating his honest lyrics and West Coast-meets-Southern sound.

Brett Young has earned his accolades and fans with a solid string of hits, including the upbeat midtempo tune "Not Yet" from the album Weekends Look a Little Different these days.

Or the tender & heartfelt tune In Case You Didn't Know from Young's self-titled album.

With a string of hits, Chris Lane has made the rounds as an opener for the likes of Florida Georgia Line, Eli Young Band, and Lee Brice.

Lane's 2018 slow jam song, I Don't Know About You, was a #1 hit on the Country Airplay Chart and went triple platinum.

Big, Big Plans was Lane's 2019 breakout hit as the lead single from his third studio album.

Brett Young and Chris Lane are seasoned performers with a solid string of hits. While the discussion about needing a bigger Five Flags has been muted, for now, these two will indeed deliver a soulful and entertaining evening in downtown Dubuque this Thursday evening.

Ticket prices for Thursday's show range from $35 - $85 and may be purchased at the Five Flags Box Office or online at Ticketmaster.com
