For those of us that travel through the intersection of Asbury and the Northwest Arterial pretty much on a daily basis....there's good news.  The Asbury Rd. and Northwest Arterial intersection is now open to eastbound and westbound traffic.

Northbound and southbound traffic on the Northwest Arterial is expected to remain head-to-head in the southbound lanes through approximately Aug. 31.

After the intersection work is completed, the repaving of the southbound lanes of the Northwest Arterial from U.S. 20 to John F. Kennedy Rd. will begin. To maintain traffic flow through the corridor as much as possible, the contractor is required to conduct all work on the southbound lanes at night between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. There will be lane shifts to accommodate construction. The estimated completion date of the southbound lane repaving is November 15, 2022.

These improvements are part of the Northwest Arterial State of Good Repair Project. For details, visit www.cityofdubuque.org/nwarterial.

If you have questions regarding the closure/detour, please contact the City of Dubuque Engineering Department at 563.589.4270. Please note: closure dates/times are estimates and are subject to change without notice based on weather and contractor schedules.
