Carnegie-Stout Welcomes Skinny and the Shakes to Music @ Your Library Event
According to a press release from the Carnegie-Stout Public Library. They will be welcoming in local band, Skinny and the Shakes, for a Music @ your library concert event on Friday, May 5th, in the third-floor auditorium. Doors open at 5:30pm, with the concert beginning at 6. This event is open to all ages. Those age 21 and older are welcome to bring their own wine or beer.
Skinny and the Shakes is a Dubuque-based group that performs original pop and alt-rock tunes with notes of funk and soul. Songwriting is a team effort among the band, which includes Chad Olson on guitar/vocals, James Riley on keys, Ben Dunegan on drums, and Daniel Young on bass. Music @ your library is a First Fridays concert series that features local and regional musicians.
Serving the Dubuque community since 1902, Carnegie-Stout Public Library aims to improve and empower lives through accessible resources, community engagement, and entertainment opportunities in a welcoming environment. Its collection of more than 240,000 items is comprised of print, audio/video materials, and various online resources including ebooks, digital magazines, streaming movies, research databases, and more. The library also offers an inventory of non-traditional items for check out as well. For example; hot spots, Kindles, and GoPro cameras, baking pans, board games, and ukuleles, just to name a few.
