If you live in Dubuque and you're worried about how to get to the polls next Tuesday, November 8th, The Julee, Dubuque’s public transportation system, is offering free bus rides for voters on Election Day. The Jule’s fixed-route service and on-demand service will provide free “Ride to Vote” rides during hours of operation from 6:15 a.m. until 6:45 p.m.

If you are a resident of Dubuque and would like to take advantage of this free service simply inform Jule operators when you board the bus that you are riding to vote. Fixed-route buses will not deviate from regular routes but will provide rides to bus stops within reasonable walking distance of polling places in Dubuque.

If needed and you request it, transportation services staff will provide information to participants to assist with their navigation from fixed-route stops to polling places. Again they can't alter their route but will attempt to get voters as close as possible to their polling place.

Details on polling places and the locations of the nearest fixed-route bus stops are available at www.cityofdubuque.org/ridetovote. Residents can find their polling place and other election-related information at www.dubuquecountyiowa.gov/189/Elections.

Again this information is not intended to sway your vote.  If you think you'll have trouble getting to the polls on Tuesday, the Jule is offering you a free ride.

For more information, please contact The Jule at 563.589.4266 or email transit@cityofdubuque.org.
