Dubuque Area Chamber to Host Eggciting Political Breakfasts
The Dubuque Area Chamber of Commerce is scrambling to connect the public with Iowa's federal elected officials and the candidates seeking to unseat those currently in office.
Election season is about to heat up, and the Dubuque Area Chamber is looking to move politics from the back burner to the front for a dynamic discussion of the pressing topics of the day and long-term issues facing Dubuque, Iowa and the country.
The series of events is called Politics & Eggs and puts elected officials on the menu for late summer and fall breakfasts with U.S. Senators Charles Grassley and Joni Ernst. Congresswoman Ashley Hinson and State Senator Liz Mathis will also make separate appearances. Democrat U.S. Senate candidate Admiral Michael Franken has yet to confirm his reservation. Still, he will likely be on hand for breakfast as well.
Each event will feature prepared remarks by the officials and an extended audience Q&A.
The Politics & Eggs events will be held at the Hotel Julien Main Ballroom (2nd Floor) or the River Room (1st floor). No word on who will be doing the cooking, but rest assured the events may stir the political pot, and fresh news will be made.
It'll be interesting to see which politicians can bring home the bacon.
