April 24, 2024: Suicide in East Dubuque
A Dubuque man died in an apparent suicide at the city's public boat ramp. East Dubuque police responded to a report of a suicidal subject, possibly armed. Despite attempts to make contact, the individual inflicted a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Emergency responders transported the individual to MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center, where they were pronounced dead shortly after 10 am. Multiple law enforcement agencies, including Dubuque, Galena, and Illinois state police, along with fire and EMS departments, were involved in the incident.
April 27, 2024: Shooting in Dubuque
Dubuque police investigate a shooting near Stafford and High Bluff streets. Shell casings were found, but no reports of injuries or damage. Datreon M. Adams, 29, was arrested at Glen View Motel on charges of firearm possession by a felon and possession of marijuana. Traffic camera footage identified a red vehicle at the scene, leading to Adams' arrest.
