Dubuque High School Principal Set to Resign at End of Year
According to a press release from Holy Catholic Family Schools, Wahlert Catholic High School Principal Mariah Reeves has tendered her resignation, marking the end of her chapter at the esteemed educational institution. Reeves, who joined Wahlert's administrative team in 2020, has been a driving force behind several innovative initiatives aimed at enhancing the educational experience for students.
During her tenure, Reeves played a pivotal role in expanding and refining the personalized learning model for grades 9-12. Her efforts included the integration of service learning into the curriculum and the implementation of Eagle Time, a student-centered support framework designed to maximize academic success.
Among Reeves' notable contributions is the development and execution of a competency-based learning framework, as well as the introduction of an experiential-learning January "J" Term. These initiatives have not only enriched the academic landscape at Wahlert but have also empowered students to cultivate critical skills and knowledge in a dynamic and engaging environment.
Phil Bormann, Chief Administrator of Holy Family, expressed gratitude for Reeves' unwavering commitment to excellence in education and her passion for fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment. As the first female principal in the school's history, Reeves leaves behind a lasting legacy of innovation and progress.
As Wahlert prepares to bid farewell to Reeves, Holy Family has already begun the search for her successor. The task of filling her shoes will undoubtedly be a challenging one, but the school remains steadfast in its commitment to providing students with exceptional leadership and educational opportunities.
Reeves' departure, to become the Director of Curriculum and Instruction with the Clinton Community School District, marks the close of a remarkable chapter at Wahlert Catholic High School, but her influence and contributions will continue to resonate within the school community for years to come.
