Dubuque Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event Sept 7th

HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION EVENT

The City of Dubuque and the Dubuque Metropolitan Area Solid Waste Agency (DMASWA) are co-sponsoring a household hazardous waste (HHW) collection. Materials will be accepted by appointment from Dubuque County residents.  The event will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2019, rain or shine, from 8 a.m. to noon at Murphy Park, Dubuque, Iowa.  Residents can register for this event at www.DMASWA.org.  Businesses are not permitted to participate.

Acceptable Items Include:

 Household cleaners

 Motor Oil/Oil Filters

 Old Gasoline

 Residential Fertilizers/Pesticides

 Aerosol Cans

 Antifreeze

 Household Fluorescent Bulbs

 CFL’s

 Mercury Bulbs

 Halogen Bulbs

 Sharps (In Rigid, Sealed Containers)

 Rechargeable batteries

 Ink/Toner cartridges

 Oil Based Paint

 Latex Paint

Materials Not Accepted

 Farm Chemicals

 Business Chemicals/Waste

 Ammunition/Explosives

 Diethyl Ether

 Ether

Residents interested in participating should go to www.DMASWA.org  or call 563-557-8220 ext. 2 to make an appointment by Friday, September 6th. Items will not be accepted from schools, businesses, farms, non-profits, or governmental entities.  Containers will not be returned to the resident and any container larger the 5-gallons will not be accepted during this event.
