The Dubuque Regional Humane Society is excited to introduce our Pet of the Week: Fish... which is a bit odd, since he's a cat!

Where to start when it comes to Fish? He’s 3.5-years-old, great with the litter box, handsome, sweet, and just the right amount of goofy. Staff like to joke that Fish has one brain cell working overtime, but in reality, he might have too many, and sometimes just doesn’t know what to do with them!

This mischievous mastermind isn’t meant for the confines of shelter life and is ready to show off his big personality in a home of his own. Fish has previously lived with kids, though a home with older or cat-savvy children would be best, as he can get a little overstimulated at times.

LOOK: Here Are 30 Foods That Are Poisonous to Dogs

To prepare yourself for a potential incident, always keep your vet's phone number handy, along with an after-hours clinic you can call in an emergency. The ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center also has a hotline you can call at (888) 426-4435 for advice.

Even with all of these resources, however, the best cure for food poisoning is preventing it in the first place. To give you an idea of what human foods can be dangerous, Stacker has put together a slideshow of 30 common foods to avoid. Take a look to see if there are any that surprise you.
