Dubuque Planning on a COVID-19 Mass Vaccination Site Inside Kennedy Mall

Dubuque officials have plans to lease a space for a COVID-19 mass vaccine site. .
On Friday, the Dubuque County Board of Health approved the Dubuque County Public Health Incident Management Team’s request to lease "vacant space at Kennedy Mall in Dubuque to operate an indoor COVID-19 vaccination point of distribution (POD) for Phase 1B vaccinations."
Dubuque County supervisors met on Monday and approved a lease of a former department store to be used as a remote clinic site and point of distribution for the COVID-19 vaccine. The lease is for the former women's Younkers store in Kennedy Mall in Dubuque. The store vacated the space in the summer of 2018.
The estimated cost will be $126,815. with the largest amount of money needed for personnel including security from the Dubuque Police Department and Dubuque County Sheriff's Department.
The site will operate by appointment only.
Patrice Lambert, Exec. Director for the Dubuque County Health Department, said. "At Kennedy Mall, the Younkers women's section meets the need of all of our requests that we have been looking at,"
