THIS IS NOT A DRILL. Tyler Childers is headed out on tour in 2026, and one of the shows on the schedule is in Des Moines!

Who is Tyler Childers?

34-year-old Tyler Childers is a singer-songwriter from Kentucky. According to Wikipedia, "his music has been described as a mix of neotraditional country, bluegrass, folk, and honky-tonk."

Tyler started playing guitar and writing songs when he was around 13-years-old, eventually dropping out of college to pursue a music career. He had been playing and recording music for years before dropping his album Purgatory in 2017, which was very well-received by various critics and publications. His Live on Red Barn Radio EPs are also very popular amongst his fans.

Tyler's latest album Snipe Hunter was released in July of 2025 and has earned him several Grammy nominations. The four 2026 categories he's nominated in include Best Contemporary Country Album, Best Country Song, Best Country Solo Performance, and Best Country Duo/Group Performance.
