DaaBIN Store in Dubuque Permanently Closes

A Dubuque business that prioritized discounts and the act of treasure hunting has closed its doors.

There was palpable excitement when DaaBIN Store opened its doors on Dodge Street on Dubuque's West End. The business model was unlike anything in the area, where the cost to enter the store was different depending on the day you visited, and it was about what items you could find in one of their containers on any day. This past weekend, DaaBIN Store announced it would be closing, effective immediately.

DaaBIN Store took to Facebook to announce that it would be closing as of this past weekend:

We regret to announce do to circumstances beyond our control: We have permanently closed the Dubuque store. This was a decision we don't take lightly. The decision was one if the hardest ones we have had to make. We'd like to thank each and everyone of you for your patronage. We have made so many friends over the years. Dubuque has become our second home. We will miss everyone. Also thank you to our wonderful staff. They made the store fun and exciting - per DaaBIN Store Dubuque's Facebook page

DaaBIN Store has origins in Waterloo, IA, and has several locations nationwide. The business model is eclectic insofar that its stock of items comes from warehouses, and largely consists of items that are overstocked by other retailers and/or returned. The Dubuque store was owned by Darrin and Brenda Dennis, who took it over in early 2025. The store opened in 2023.
