New Aldi Opening This Week in Moline with Prizes and Giveaways

Aldi fans in the Quad Cities have something new to look forward to this week. The popular discount grocery chain is opening its newest store in Moline with a special preview on Wednesday, October 8, followed by a grand opening celebration on Thursday, October 9. Store hours will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Former Hy-Vee Location Transformed

The new store sits at 710 42nd Avenue Drive, in the former Hy-Vee building at the corner of John Deere Road and 7th Street. Hy-Vee closed that location in early 2022, and since then, crews have been working to transform the space into a modern Aldi store. This marks Moline’s second Aldi and the seventh location across the Quad Cities.

Grand Opening Celebration Thursday

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place on Thursday morning at 8 a.m., about 30 minutes before the store officially opens to the public. Following the ceremony, customers can head inside to explore the new store layout and deals.

To celebrate, the first 100 shoppers on Thursday will receive a “Golden Ticket” that could be worth up to $100 in Aldi gift cards. The first 100 customers will also receive goodie bags and free shopping totes, while supplies last.

Customers visiting between October 9–12 can also enter for a chance to win a $500 Aldi gift card by scanning a special code displayed inside the store.

The new location continues Aldi’s regional growth and gives shoppers another convenient option for affordable groceries in Moline.
