Milo’s Been Waiting A Year For A Dubuque Family To Love Him
Each week, the Dubuque Regional Humane Society is highlighting a "Pet of the Week." The Pet of the Week is available to be adopted via the Humane Society. This week, the Dubuque Regional Humane Society is highlighting another amazing four-legged friend:

The Dubuque Regional Humane Society is excited to re-introduce this week’s special pet: Milo!
Milo recently reached an important milestone; his 1-year anniversary in the shelter’s care. That being said, we want to help this deserving boy finally find his forever home.
Milo is 5 and a half years old. He weighs around 39-pounds and is a smart, active companion. He’s incredibly intelligent and thrives when he has structure, consistency, and routine. Milo has even completed training through That’s My Dog’s Rising Star program, where he impressed everyone with his focus and progress. His ideal adopter would be someone willing to continue his training and help him keep building on his success.
While Milo currently lives with other dogs in foster care, he can be selective and may do best as the only pet in the household. He’s also not a fan of tiny humans. Young children can be overwhelming for him, so a home with older kids (14+) is recommended.
This energetic boy loves adventure! Whether it’s hiking, jogging, long walks, or a great game of fetch, Milo is happiest when he’s active and engaged. He is also both housetrained and kennel trained, making the transition to a new home easier.
As a long-stay dog, Milo’s adoption fee is reduced, and the shelter team is committed to helping him find the perfect match. Visitations are by appointment only since Milo is currently in foster care, but the shelter encourages interested adopters to reach out. This good boy is more than ready to meet his new family.
