For a list of acceptable paper, plastic and metal, which can be dropped off at this location please visit: https://www.dmaswa.org/services/recycling-reuse/drop-off-recycling/ In addition to the new location, the Dubuque Metropolitan Area Solid Waste Agency was recently awarded a grant from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources Environmental Management System program to purchase roll off containers specifically for the purpose of establishing drop-off locations for glass recycling. Glass collected in the purple containers will be shipped to Ripple Glass where it will be recycled into new bottles and fiberglass insulation. The following types of glass may be dropped off for recycling in the Purple Containers: - Rinsed Glass food and beverage containers (all colors, labels can stay on) - Drinking Vessels (pint glasses, wine glass, mason jars, etc.) - Candle Jars (leftover wax okay) - Cosmetic bottles/jars The DMASWA is currently sponsoring two (2) Drop-Off Stations to provide access to Dubuque County residents for glass recycling: - DMASWA Landfill, 14501 Hwy 20 West, Dubuque (Purple Container) - City of Dubuque Municipal Service Center, 925 Kerper Court, Dubuque (Purple Container) To reduce potential spread of COVID-19, the Dubuque Metropolitan Area Solid Waste Agency encourages residents who utilize the drop off locations to respect the CDC’s social distancing guidelines.
