Snow Storms, Mario Kart, and Hot Chocolate

Man it's really coming down out there. I hope you're all safe and cozy. Days like this remind me of the early outs and snow days of my youth. Even special days only experienced during my collegiate career; big shout out to the Wartburg Community and OutFly.

Even better, days like today have taken on special traits ever since becoming a dad, It's the perfect time to catch up with the kids (while I still have an edge on them). Mario Kart tournaments were made for being trapped in doors. And trust me we play them all. From Super Nintendo's first iteration all the way up to the latest version on Switch.

Speaking of which, Nintendo's Mario Kart 8 Deluxe just seems to be the game that keeps on giving. If there's ever been a track you wanted to race from yester-year it's basically here. Re-vamped. Re-shined. Re-shelled (get it).

Yes, Nintendo is still releasing new content for the title even though it launched back in 2017 (now that's game longevity). New tracks have been added over the past year, bringing forward more classic tracks from past Mario Kart titles and new ones as well. Nintendo's also been adding new characters, Birdo was recently added to the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe roster.

So now it's time to take a small break from the chaos of the work day. Let the snow fall. Sip that extra-large hot-chocolate. And whoop your kids in Mario Kart (make sure it's the N64 Classic). You know, the things in life that really matter ;)
