The Mississippi Moon Bar Brings Classic Rockers to Life
The Diamond Jo Casino is rocking through late summer with the classic tracks of the Doors, Guns & Roses, and Nirvana all live at the Mississippi Moon Bar.
The party starts this Saturday, August 5th, at 8pm as the Ultimate Doors bring an authentic looking and sounding tribute to Jim Morrison & The Doors. From Jim Morrison's leather outfits all the way down to the color of the microphone cable, The Ultimate Doors leave no stone unturned in bringing an authentic Doors tribute show to the stage.
The Ultimate Doors was formed with the intention of preserving The Doors' music and performances as well as bringing an authentic experience to the old and the new generations of Doors' fans. You will leave feeling like you watched The Doors performing live in the late 1960's.
The funs just getting started as classic rock takes over again on Friday, August 18th at 8pm. Nightrain's tribute show to Guns & Roses has been taking the U.S. by storm for years. Performances have ranged from the House of Blues, MTVs famous Club La Vela, FC Dallas Stadium, to Carolina Rebellion, sharing the bill with Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, and Buckcherry to name a few. Nightrain continues to make their stamp in today's ever growing tribute market.
The accurate vocals and hypnotic swaying of Axl both capture the audience’s attention from the first beat down to the last note. Slash’s classic riffs and perfect showmanship (and let’s not forget the top hat) will make everyone do a double take. However, Axl and Slash are only part of the show.
The tight rhythm of Izzy, Duff, and Steven are the glue that keeps this true concert tribute together. Izzy’s laid-back style; a 6’ blonde Duff; and the energy of Steven “popcorn” Adler complete this visually and musically accurate line-up. This band’s vibrant stage presence and accuracy to everything about Guns & Roses leaves the entire crowd pleased. By the way, tickets are a steal for this show starting at just $10 a piece. September picks up the classic rock slack on the 29th at 8pm as the Diamond Jo Casino welcomes Smells Like Nirvana to the Mississippi Moon Bar Stage.
Composed of seasoned pros and die-hard fans of Nirvana, Smells Like Nirvana’s live tribute to Nirvana is a haunting episode of grunge filled angst and rock prowess played without click tracks or backing tracks, a trait that is rare in today’s contemporary musical landscape, a trait and philosophy that Nirvana lived by.
Smells Like Nirvana hails from Chicago, Illinois and features Paul Wandtke (ex Trivium) on vocals and guitar; Mike Petrasek (Bedlem) on bass; and Benny “Boomba” Piazza on drums.
The Mississippi Moon Bar, was named from the lyrics of that classic track from the Doobie Brothers’, “Black Water.” And classic rock tracks being cranked out across the stage will let you experience a concert and entertainment like it was meant to be enjoyed. The Mississippi Moon Bar features headlining acts, regional bands, and comedy; it's truly a hangout and venue all rolled into one. Find more information on upcoming shows and tickets here.
