Marion Oktoberfest is coming back in 2023. And just like last year, it won't be in October, but mid-September!

Last year's inaugural event proved to be a huge success, despite some wet weather at the start of the day. The city of Marion has announced that the second annual Oktoberfest Celebration will return to Uptown Marion on Saturday, September 16th. The event is sponsored by Sheets Forest Draper Insurance and this year will also partner with the Horizons 5K powered by FSB, according to the press release.

Oktoberfest will feature 30 breweries from Iowa and the surrounding area with a sampling of a wide variety of beer styles. Each brewery will also have employees on hand to help educate patrons on the beer that they are sampling. There will also be German games like hammerschlagen and stein holding and live music from Lyle Beaver and the Brass Notes.

According to the press release, this year's Oktoberfest celebration will once again benefit the Winter Lights program which helps fund Marion's community decorations during the holiday season. Last year's event raised $16,000 for the program. Oktoberfest will also benefit the Iowa Brewer's Guild which helps promote and support local breweries in the state.

General admission tickets for Oktoberfest in Marion are $40 and include access to breweries starting at noon. VIP tickets are $60 and get you access to the breweries starting at 11 a.m. Tickets for the event are on sale now and can be purchased HERE!
